Puff the Magic Dragon probably lives in Hanalei Bay and the ceremony starts with the conch blowing with a porcine procession and Hawaiian music during the buffet.
Food includes some unusual salads including exceptional grilled salmon along with cucumber and seaweed salads.
The review is typically Polynesian with the usual Kalua pig complemented by Chicken Lau-Lau, mahi-mahi with lemon seaweed sauce, and grilled marinated chicken with macadamia nut sauce. Add ginger, lemon grass beef and the usual Haupia or coconut pudding, but leave room for the rice pudding from the Imu. There's an open bar from 5:50 until 7:30, the Monday, Wednesday and Thursday luau starts at 6:00 and rates are about $60 per person, children pay $30, Seniors and locals pay about $50. |
