With more courses than any other island, Oahu is a tough call. Koolau, the toughest course in the USA is the obvious choice for experts and masochists. But there are all sorts of other great courses. Even the Muni Course on the Ali Wai (808-733-7387) with it's $40 greens fees and $14 carts offers level pleasures for those who book early. The Kahuku Course, a pedestrian only budget delight at $3 per nine holes suits the locals on a budget (808-293-5842). The Links at Kahuhu, designed by Arnold Palmer the nearby Turtle Head Hilton (808-293-8574 offers a $50 discount to guests off the usual $125 fee and a very inexpensive $25 9-hold course. Ko Olina,(808-676-5309) the Ihilani Resort Course out by Barber's Point past Pearl Harbor is beautiful but flat and pricey at $145 including the cart.
The last runner ups are the two Hawai'I Kai (808-395-2358) courses out on Kalaniana'ole Highway that run $85/95 plus carts during the week and $20 and $5 more respectively on weekends. Makaka's two courses take the runner up spot. |
