Description and Basic Information ::
|
| A trip up 10,000 foot Haleakala, even if you don't take the dandy 32-mile downhill coast to the coast, repays birders with a look at Nene Geese, the Hawaiian state bird and a number of other specie usually seen on a Hosmer Grove hike. Driving the network of roads between the two volcanoes offers more species in the lavender jacaranda trees for the life list and the ironwood forests behind the beaches improve chances too. Hana rewards highway survivors with diverse species as well. |
